Gujarat State Co. Op. Grain Growers Federation Limited was established on 12/12/1984 by EX. M.P. Shri Natwarsingh Kesrisingh Solanki. He was the first chairman of this organization to help unorganized farmers. At the time of establishment of the institute, the name of the institute was Gujarat Co. Op. Paddy Growers Federation Limited was held. Which initially worked to prevent the exploitation of unorganized paddy farmers. Seeing the good response of the farmers during the work, in 1990, the farmers also demanded that the organization should buy their beans and help the farmers. Thereafter the organization was renamed Gujarat State Co. Op. Grain Growers Federation Limited was formed. So that the farmers who grows grains, pulses and telebia will get direct benefit.
The organization has also done procurement work for A.P.O (Army Purchase Organisation). Apart from that, it has worked with World Food Programme, Government of Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation and many similar organizations. And still does. Apart from this, the organization is doing very good work of fertilizer distribution through its own and depots as well as member organizations and nominal members as well.
The institute is affiliated with various organizations at national and state level. Including NAFED, KRIBHCO, GSFC, GNFC, IFFCO, IPL, CHAMBAL, FERTILIZER, NCCF etc.
